Why we use lactose-free A2/A2 Dairy

What causes many of our stomachs to be upset when we eat dairy? Most people think it’s lactose intolerance, which means your body doesn’t have enough lactase enzyme to convert the milk sugar (lactose) into glucose, so you can digest it. But, the more likely possibility (and one which most people are far less aware) is people are intolerant to the A1 casein protein that is in most dairy today. This A1 protein chain was introduced to dairy cows about 30 years ago as ranchers started cross breeding cows. Before then, the human body had never digested this A1 protein in our evolution, so many people had trouble digesting it, which causes indigestion and cramping.

George Haymaker III

Founder and CEO

As a no-nonsense businessman, George has more than 30 years of entrepreneurial experience specializing in building businesses from scratch and taking them to scale. His many strengths include business savviness, the ability to pivot, leadership skills, fearlessness, tenacity, perseverance, tirelessness, determination, focus, and dedication.

Prior to ReThink, George was the Operating Partner at The Counter Custom Burgers, where he oversaw operations of the nine-unit northern California restaurant group. Before this experience, George was the CEO of TGEC Communications for over seven years, where he built the telecom company from the ground up.

George attended Bucknell University in Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Jordan Parker

Director of Marketing

Jordan has spent two decades working in PR and marketing for multimillion-dollar brands and startups, it’s from this experience she understands the importance of shaping a company from the start by thinking outside-the-box.

Before ReThink, Jordan was in charge of all Brand Marketing, PR and Partnerships at KRAVE JERKY and was the Alliance Brand Development Manager at Young’s Market Company where she maximized sales, lead unique marketing programming and managed sponsorship opportunities of such supplier brands as Bacardi USA, Brown Forman and Remy Cointreau USA consisting of over 60 spirits brands.

Jeremy Parker

Operations & Field Marketing Manager

Jeremy joined ReThink Ice Cream in June of 2019 where he is responsible for all operations efforts from production planning to logistics. Jeremy is a ‘jack-of-all-trades’ and wears many hats within the company taking on anything that needs to be done. He is a critical thinker and problem solver who is highly organized and detail-oriented. In addition to Operations, pre-Covid, he managed field marketing creating the brand’s packed event schedule where they sampled delicious ice cream at races, concerts and other community events.

ReThink Ice Cream is currently distributed and sold in leading retailers on the west coast. We currently have two national distributers (KeHE & UNFI), five distribution centers and 500 retail store placements in California and Oregon.

We also partner with several food service initiatives serving hospitals, universites and corperate cafes.

Our mission in 2022 is to expand into the Southwest region adding retailers in Nevada, Arizona and Texas.

The Team

George Haymaker III

Founder and CEO

As a no-nonsense businessman, George has more than 30 years of entrepreneurial experience specializing in building businesses from scratch and taking them to scale. His many strengths include business savviness, the ability to pivot, leadership skills, fearlessness, tenacity, perseverance, tirelessness, determination, focus, and dedication.

Prior to ReThink, George was the Operating Partner at The Counter Custom Burgers, where he oversaw operations of the nine-unit northern California restaurant group. Before this experience, George was the CEO of TGEC Communications for over seven years, where he built the telecom company from the ground up.

George attended Bucknell University in Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Jordan Parker

Director of Marketing

Jordan has spent two decades working in PR and marketing for multimillion-dollar brands and startups, it’s from this experience she understands the importance of shaping a company from the start by thinking outside-the-box.

Before ReThink, Jordan was in charge of all Brand Marketing, PR and Partnerships at KRAVE JERKY and was the Alliance Brand Development Manager at Young’s Market Company where she maximized sales, lead unique marketing programming and managed sponsorship opportunities of such supplier brands as Bacardi USA, Brown Forman and Remy Cointreau USA consisting of over 60 spirits brands.

Jeremy Parker

Operations & Field Marketing Manager

Jeremy joined ReThink Ice Cream in June of 2019 where he is responsible for all operations efforts from production planning to logistics. Jeremy is a ‘jack-of-all-trades’ and wears many hats within the company taking on anything that needs to be done. He is a critical thinker and problem solver who is highly organized and detail-oriented. In addition to Operations, pre-Covid, he managed field marketing creating the brand’s packed event schedule where they sampled delicious ice cream at races, concerts and other community events.
